Love Island’s Laura Anderson has meltdown during seven-hour DIY haircut and tells fans ‘don’t try this at home’
Makeovers don’t come easy, even if you’re already a pro. Ask Love Island star Laura Anderson who’s just shared a gruelling seven-hour DIY hair transformation – and warned fans not to copy her.
“Seven hours later and two meltdowns,” she posted on Instagram. “Don’t try this at home.”
After cutting and colouring her own locks and adding extensions, the former hairdresser shared the results of the makeover, captioning the post “thought I’d utilise my old skills and give myself a wee hair change up.”

The results were nothing short of professional, leaving fans in awe of her savvy hairdressing skills.
“How how how???? I keep seeing these posts of people giving themselves highlights and the results look perfect, I can’t even dye my roots with a box dye without a disaster,” one posted.
“God you’re really talented to put foils in like that yourself,” another wrote.

Although Laura makes it look easy, she’s actually a fully qualified hairdresser and extension specialist. As well as being an air hostess, she worked in Dubai as a hair stylist before her Love Island debut. She also launched her own hair extension brand, LA LOX.
In the short clip, Laura first removes her lengthy extensions, before adding highlights to her natural hair, which she then cuts into a long bob or “lob”, adding clip-in extensions for volume.
Ditching her recent brunette colour, the star opted for a warm honey blonde shade with darker roots, creating a salon-worthy ombre effect.

Although Laura is a hair pro, the star confessed: “Not gonna lie I gave in on the tapes half way round my head, thank goodness for my old @laloxlondon clip ins.”
When fans asked for more info, Laura revealed that she used LA LOX’s Invisible Clip In Hair Extensions, from £36.99 here in the shades Hazelnut Blonde and Biscotti.
The star also “put a few half single tapes of” LA LOX’s Injection Tape Hair Extensions, from £88 here – in the shades Boho Girl and Sandy Beach.
“But not many as they’re super light,” she told her fans.

One follower didn’t realise Laura wore extensions at all, commenting “When I see celebrities take their extensions out I’m also so surprised they even have them in the first place, you’ve done an amazing job.”
“I’ve worn extensions for years, my hair is super thin,” Laura responded, “it’s why I trained in hairdressing and motivated me to start @laloxlondon.”
